  • Another story

I like stories.. especially the real life true story.. where I see it, feel it and experience it by myself..

Here is another story I want to write.. It's about a young man that I met in "Kawan".

Last Thursday a group of us went to "Kawan", the drop-in center.  As usual, we will have a time of prayer before the service, than proceed to time worship, sharing and at the end, the "makan" the important for most of the people there.

But there is an incident that impacted me to most.  That I met this guy (can't remember his name) that used to come to "Kawan" quite frequently.  The last time I met him, he was jobless.  Cheated by his boss by making him work and didn't pay him his wedges.  He was practically jobless and homeless.  I remembered after the meeting, before he left.  I manage to catch up with him again and when I say,"See you again!!"  His reply gave me a stunned.  He said,"Well, I hope I don't have to see you again.  I hope I can get a job, get my pay, find a place to stay and no need to come back here."

Yet last Thursday I saw him again.  He told me he already found a job in a restorant, helping in the kitchen.  He even manage to rent a small room near his work place. I was curios and asked, "Than why are you coming back again?"  He replied,"When I was bathing at home, I remembered of this place.  Where I used to come.  So I thought of just dropping by and check out how's everyone."

Well, to me even though this is not a conversion of his faith but I believe God have already planted a small little seed in his heart and the seed is even growing now..  Hope that he will come back, and continue to eat the spiritual food..

    * by the way, I'm writing this in Kuala Terengganu.. No time to put it down since Thursday.

  • A Search for a Church

There is a young man, he found a job opportunity in foreign land through his friend.  He is very excited and yet a bit nervous.  He knew that he definitely is going to get a better pay and yet he is going to be away from his family.  That he is going to miss his family so much while he is away from home.

Another concern of him would be to find a church that he can fit in to.  That he can find a place to worship and even to belong to the “family”.  So he started his quest to look for his new “family” some where around his new work place and where he is going to stay.

Firstly, he found out that the place that he is going to work is called “Petaling Jaya”.  So he went on internet and start the searching through “wikimapia” and eventually he found some churches around and he send out emails to ask about the church and to get the contacts as well. He waited and no one reply him.

Just a week before his departing, he is getting a bit desperate because he still couldn’t find a church that he can relate to.  This time he decided to “google” it again.  He just type in “Petaling Jaya + church” and hopefully this time he will be able to get some response.  He managed to get a list of churches and their contact emails.  So he sent out emails to about 14 churches and he waited.  He waited and no one seems to reply him and he started to question himself, “Am I the unwanted?  Why no one seems to welcoming me to Malaysia?”

Right 3 days before his departing, finally there is an email that pops up in his mailbox and gave him a great relieve.  There are people that willing to “accept” him and welcome him.

So he departed and finally he came to this church.  That he found out that the way the church worship, environment and believes are pretty much the same and he felt quite comfortable with it.  He starts going to this church regularly and even look for cell group that he can relate to.

In his heart he whispers, “This must be God, that through out the city, there is only one church that responses to my email and I’m here.”

    * Well, this post is base on a true story and I did add some of my own personal feelings in it.  In fact when I heard of this testimony, I was touched and felt warm of how He cares and how He plans everything for His beloved children.

    And.. technologies works.. =)

  • - Esther & Jonah -

I was reading Esther and Jonah for KLTI.  One part that really struck me is that both of them have a similar thing that they suffer when they are called or challenge to do the great thing for God..

For Esther, when she was asked to go and beg for mercy and pled the pled to spare Israel.  She was affraid that she might be put to death because no one suppose be appear in front of the king without being summon.  That her fear is to lose her life.. to lose everything else she had.

For Jonah, the reason he tried to escape from God and refuse to go and preach to Nineveh is because he have something "personal" with the "great wiked city". I'm not so sure why he gets so personal about it.  Maybe he knew that God is going to forgive the city while he think that "salvation" is only for the Jews.

One thing I learned is that when we focus too much on ourself.. what we going to lose.. what we don't like to do.. what we have to sacrifice.  Than we are blinded, that we are not able to see what God have in plan for us, for His kingdom.

Both of them almost miss the "great plan" of God is they refuse to look away from themself.. Is not that God's plan will fail if these people keep being disobedience but it's more like these people going to miss being part of His plan.  That He will have other people to succed the plan but those who keep being disobedience.. you might miss the honor of being in His being plan to advance His kingdom.
